No Mow May gets another endorsement from an Ontario municipality
About 80 per cent of flowering plants depend on pollinators to help produce seed
April 20, 2023 By Turf & Rec

Yet another Ontario municipality is encouraging residents to put their mowers away during the month of May.
Springwater Township is endorsing No Mow May so that bees and other pollinators have a chance to feed on wildflowers and other plants. By not mowing lawns, flowers and weeds can flourish during the month, giving pollinators ample food sources.
The township’s endorsement of the campaign is a pilot project that waives existing yard maintenance bylaws.
About 80 per cent of all flowering plants depend on pollinators to help produce seed.
