Property owners warned to keep their grass cut in Owen Sound no higher than four inches
Municipality is not among those observing No Mow May

Property owners in Owen Sound, Ont. have been warned to maintain their lawns at a height of no more than four inches.
The municipality is not observing the No Mow May campaign that some others have adopted, in which residents can let their lawns grow longer than usual to attract pollinators without risk of violating existing yard tidiness bylaws.
Owen Sound’s yard maintenance bylaw notes residents must not only keep grass heights capped at four inches, but clippings, garbage and other waste products must be removed as well.
Those in violation of the bylaw will receive a letter requesting they comply with existing regulations. If the letter is ignored, violators could face action by the city at their expense.
