Gravenhurst, Ont. buys into No Mow May campaign as one-year pilot project
Existing lawn maintenance bylaw penalties suspended through month of May
April 18, 2023 By Turf & Rec

Another Ontario town has officially bought into the No Mow May campaign.
Gravenhurst is asking residents to resist mowing their lawns in May to allow pollinators a chance to feed on growing plant life.
Local council agreed to suspend its lawn maintenance bylaws in May to allow residents to participate in the initiative without penalty. The town’s initiative is, for now, a one-year pilot project.
The effectiveness of the program will be reviewed by staff and presented to council.
