Winnipeg to replace grass in some city green spaces with clover in pilot project
Clover needs less water, reduced mowing
July 7, 2022 By Turf & Rec
A pilot project is underway in Winnipeg in which grass is being switched out in some city green spaces for clover. Aimed at parks and boulevards, clover is seen as an alternative cover which still provides green colour yet doesn’t require as much mowing. Gusta Sod Farms has offered to assist with the project at no cost. Clover, which also requires less water, is expected to be planted next month in the target areas.
