Those supporting ‘No Mow May’ campaign could be violating existing yard upkeep bylaws
Town ponders bylaw changes to avoid penalties

Although its intentions are honourable, the “No Mow May” campaign could be in violation of municipal yard maintenance bylaws. In Collingwood, Ont., council is considering amendments to its existing bylaws to allow residents to participate in the pro-pollination campaign without risk of being fined for keeping an unkempt-looking yard. Acting Mayor Keith Hull said he participated in the campaign, but added he thought some of his neighbours were horrified at the sight.
