Couple wins its yard naturalization case against municipality following litigation
Naturalization bylaws inconsistent across Ontario, they say

A Smiths Falls couple’s decision to naturalize their front yard with trees and other native plants ran afoul of town bylaws, but appeals to Ontario’s Superior Court turned the tide in their favour. They’re not entirely confident, however, that the matter is closed. Municipal property bylaws are inconsistent from one town to the next, they say, adding they won’t feel satisfied until regulations about naturalization are consistent throughout the province.
