July 26, 2023 By Turf & Rec

New practice lights are being installed at Caledonia Park in Nanaimo, B.C. following a recent rash of break-ins.
The lights will cost more than $110,000 and will be installed on either side of the practice field the VI Raiders football team uses. Security lights at the park have also been approved by council.
Lights from the artificial turf fields at Centennial Park, which is currently under construction, will be reused.
The past few years have seen several break-ins at the VI Raiders’ facilities. The lights are expected to be installed by the fall.
