Buffalo Bills announce new stadium will have a natural grass playing field
NFL team has played home games on artificial turf since 1973
June 7, 2023 By Turf & Rec

The NFL’s Buffalo Bills will be playing on natural turf at home for the first time once their new stadium is built.
The team has been playing on artificial turf for its home games since 1973 when its soon-to-be-abandoned stadium was originally built.
The announcement about the Bills’ plans to play on natural turf comes in the wake of increased concern in the league about player injuries on artificial turf surfaces.
Construction of team’s new stadium isn’t expected to be completed until 2026, giving the Bills another three seasons at least to continue playing home games on artificial turf.
