Tennessee Titans to abandon natural turf playing surface for ‘cutting-edge’ artificial turf next season
Club says natural grass getting harder to grow

Amid increasing demands throughout the National Football League to do away with artificial turf playing surfaces, the Tennessee Titans have announced they’re heading in the opposite direction. The club currently plays on a natural turf surface at Nissan Stadium, but says it’s becoming increasingly difficult to grow grass in that part of the country. The team’s president says the new synthetic turf that will be installed is “cutting-edge technology” and will improve both consistency and performance.
