Toronto councillor pushes for city to outlaw gas-powered landscaping equipment

Plan would be to start with municipal employees

Taking Ottawa’s lead, a Toronto councillor wants the city to follow suit by outlawing gas-powered landscaping equipment. Coun. Shelley Carroll said if the city pushes for a ban, it should begin with municipal employees to pave the way and then continue with a broader-based ban. The City of Ottawa is to begin using electric landscaping equipment this summer.
