Ottawa moves another step closer to phasing out gas-powered landscaping equipment

A City of Ottawa councillor’s recommendation to phase out gas-powered landscaping equipment used by municipal staff was approved Tuesday by the city’s standing committee on environmental protection, water and waste management. The committee’s approval is now awaiting ratification by full council when it meets April 13. The measure is aimed at reducing noise and air pollution levels.
