Tim Hortons Field transforming into outdoor rink for March 13 Leafs-Sabres game

Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton is being converted into a huge ice rink in time for an outdoor NHL contest between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Buffalo Sabres on March 13. The artificial turf surface will be covered with a two-inch-thick ice layer for the Sabres’ “home” game. Protective plastic decking mats are being placed atop the existing artificial turf surface.
