NFL says criticized artificial turf field is OK to play on for Giants-49ers game

Criticized last week as having contributed to the injuries of four San Francisco 49ers players, the artificial turf surface at MetLife Stadium in New York has passed inspection by the National Football League in time for Sunday’s game between the 49ers and New York Giants. The 49ers complained the field’s “sticky” surface directly led to knee injuries sustained by four of their players.
