Safety of NFL team’s artificial turf comes into question by players’ union

The safety of the artificial turf at MetLife Stadium – home field of the NFL’s New York Jets and New York Giants – has come under fire by members of the San Francisco 49ers, and now the league’s players’ association has chimed in to question its safety. There has been an increase in the number of knee injuries from games played on artificial turf this season, and MetLife Stadium’s surface has been the primary target of criticism.
