Sarnia, Ont. assessing field needs as cricket gains in growth and popularity
Students resort to playing on ball diamonds
September 24, 2021 By Sarnia Observer

Sarnia, Ont. currently has one cricket pitch, but interest in the sport is growing which has led the city to assess its field needs. The game’s growth seems to be attributed to the number of international students attending college locally. Many of these students have been using baseball diamonds to play, but they’re not considered a viable substitute. The city wants to look at scheduling and inventory needs and determine the rate of growth in cricket for the immediate future.
