Police seeking youths behind fires deliberately set to artificial turf field
Fires at Port Moody, B.C. sports field caused about $4,000 in damages

Police in Port Moody, B.C. are trying to identify the culprits behind a series of fires deliberately set to an artificial turf sports field last week.
The incident occurred just before midnight on Friday at the Port Moody Recreation Complex’s Trasolini Field.
P0lice say a “group of youth” used an accelerant to set the fires on the field. They were seen fleeing the scene toward Shoreline Trail.
Firefighters contained the fires before they had the chance to spread, but about $4,000 in damages were realized.

Police have yet to apprehend those responsible and are seeking the public’s help in forwarding any information.
