Owen Sound, Ont. takes initial steps toward construction of new artificial turf sports field

Preliminary steps are being taken in Owen Sound, Ont. for the potential construction of a new artificial turf sports field at the city’s Victoria Park. It’s been suggested that because of the area’s colder climate, user groups can get onto an artificial turf field sooner in the spring than they could on a natural field, and that play can continue later into the fall. The estimated cost of a full-size field for soccer and football is $1.5 million.
