Local dignitaries and members of the school community have unveiled a new sports complex – complete with an artificial turf field – at Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School in Peterborough, Ont.
Other features of the project include lighting and an eight-lane track.
Coun. Lesley Parnell said having an artificial turf field will translate into savings in annual operating costs without the need for fertlizer or water.
The City of Peterborough has been developing fields over the past 10 years in partnership arrangements with public institutions and community sports groups.
