Lawyer: Bill 118 will deny legitimately injured people access to justice in Ontario

A past president of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association said the recent passing of Bill 118 will result in legitimately injured people being denied justice. “I am going to have to tell them they have lost their right to sue because they waited more than 60 days before they sent a letter out,” Steve Rastin of Rastin Gluckstein said. The bill was introduced to give property owners, tenants and snow and ice contractors a better chance to defend themselves from lawsuits.
