Ontario government passes bill aimed at protecting snow and ice contractors

The Ontario government has passed a law believed to make it easier for insurance brokers to find coverage for snow and ice contractors. Bill 118 was introduced to allow commercial contractors to better defend themselves against personal injury lawsuits in slip-and-fall incidents. The bill provides changes expected to reduce the liability exposure of contractors for clearing snow and ice from their properties.
