Kelowna golf course stays open for play while greens and fairways remain snowless

Shadow Ridge plans to stay open as long as conditions remain playable

December 20, 2023  By Turf & Rec

While most golf courses in the Kelowna, B.C. area have already shut down for the season, Shadow Ridge Golf Club accommodated 140 rounds played on Monday amid greens and fairways void of snow.

The golf course is open much later than usual – on the cusp of the winter season – as conditions are still deemed playable.

This year marks the first time in at least 10 years that the golf course has remained open this late in the season. Shadow Ridge expects to remain open as long as conditions remain playable.

Although temperatures were seasonally cool, golfers attired themselves in layers to fulfill their golf fix.
