Kelowna’s Shadow Ridge Golf Course still going strong amid talk of it succumbing to airport expansion
Five-year extension recently signed
August 3, 2022 By Turf & Rec

Shadow Ridge Golf Course in Kelowna, B.C. looked like its days were numbered when the city purchased the property in 2016 to accommodate the eventual expansion of the Kelowna International Airport. Six years later, the golf course is still going and looks like it will continue to operate for the next several years. The airport expansion plans were put on hold during the COVID pandemic, and the golf course’s operators last year signed a five-year lease extension to keep it open for golf. Shadow Ridge has become part of the conversation about the city’s recent loss of golf courses, and is expected to be a hot topic of debate in the next municipal election.
