Group opposing development plans at Millcroft Golf Club needs more money for its fight

Ontario Land Tribunal hearing set for next month

February 8, 2024  By Turf & Rec

A Burlington, Ont. group fighting plans redevelop the Millcroft Golf Club needs more money to continue its goal.

Millcroft Against Bad Development (MAD) needs to increase its fundraising by about $70,000 before a Ontario Land Tribunal hearing that will take place next month to determine the golf course’s future.

The development plans are poised to reduce the size of the golf course to accommodate 100 homes. Residents living near the course fear development will increase traffic in the area, will lead to a loss in wildlife and negatively affect flood management.

The group behind the development plans argue much-needed housing will come to Burlington. The city has mostly sided with MAD and has asked the provincial government to stop the Ontario Land Tribunal proceedings.
