Edmonton sitting on about 350 undeveloped green park site spaces

Some residents have waited 25 years for park

Edmonton has about 350 undeveloped sites that could be turned into small parks. Some are located in newer neighbourhoods while others are situated in more mature areas. In the latter neighbourhoods, residents have been waiting up to 25 years for the green spaces to be developed into parks, with proper landscaping, trails, playground equipment and other useful active space. One of the obstacles standing in the city’s way is acquiring the land to complete development.
