Local players travel to London and Windsor to player in winter

The want of an indoor soccer dome is expected to be addressed at an upcoming meeting of Chatham-Kent council, the Ontario municipality’s mayor says.

At a recent breakfast meeting of the Wallaceburg and District Chamber last week, Mayor Darrin Canniff said such a facility is needed in the region. Currently, local soccer players travel to London or Windsor to play during the winter months.

A domed facility would ideally be located at the new regional park near St. Clair College, the mayor suggested.

Canniff said if it was solely up to him, an indoor soccer dome would be constructed.
