Steinbach, Man. soccer club wants indoor facility to accommodate growing program
Idea for an indoor facility was first pitched 10 years ago

The Hanover Soccer Club in Steinbach, Man. is calling for an indoor facility to be built in the city to accommodate the municipality’s growing soccer program.
The club’s chairman says player registration is strong and school gymnasiums that are being used for futsal are bursting at the seams.
The club notes that smaller communities in the province have indoor playing facilities, yet Steinbach – third only to Winnipeg and Brandon in population – has no such facility.
The idea for a full-size, indoor artificial turf field was first pitched to council 10 years ago. At the time, about 75 teams and 770 players used the outdoor Steinbach Soccer Park, but the club has grown since then.
