August 17, 2023  By Turf & Rec

Plans are proceeding in the development of a new community park in Brantford, Ont. where a nine-hole golf course once stood.

Arrowdale Community Park is to be the largest park of its kind to be built in the city in the past 100 years. It will featured green spaces and recreational amenities the community can enjoy throughout the year.

So far, the site of the former Arrowdale Golf Course has seen the completion of the first phase of a dog park on the property with the second phase slated to get underway within the next couple of weeks. A temporary parking lot has also been installed for those who wish to use the park for leisure purposes, such as walking, or for tobogganing in the winter.

A portion of the former golf course property was sold for the development of affordable housing.
