Tree removal at Medicine Hat golf course changes look of its 13th hole

Course will also have less irrigation water available this year

April 4, 2024  By Turf & Rec

The 13th hole at the Connaught Golf Club in Medicine Hat, Alta. will have a different look to it this season following the removal of more than 20 trees from the green site.

The trees were either dead or diseased and were removed as a precaution for potentially falling onto adjacent buildings.

The golf club has also learned it will be receiving less water for irrigation than it received last year. Tees and greens will be given priority for water with fairways coming in next. Roughs and the driving range are being given the least priority.

Connaught plans to open for the season on April 12 and has already seen an increase in memberships.
