St. George’s new greens will be speedier than they were in 2010 this week at Open
RBC Canadian Open returns after two-year absence
June 6, 2022 By Turf & Rec

The RBC Canadian Open returns this week for the first time since 2019, to be played at the storied St. George’s Golf & Country Club in Toronto. Described by Canadian golf course architect Ian Andrew as “the best course in Canada,” St. George’s last played host to the Open in 2010. Since then, it has undergone a number of improvements, including new bentgrass greens and redone bunkers. Superintendent Ian McQueen says greens will be stimping at about 12.5 during the tournament – a faster pace than the 2010 Open.
