Sault College developing plans to add artificial turf sports field to its campus

As a means of extending its sports season and attracting new students and community groups, Sault College is looking to build a new artificial turf field at its Sault Ste. Marie campus.

The college’s president has been directed by the board of governors to devise a plan for the facility.

The cost to build the field and add seating has yet to be determined, but the college’s vice-president of academics says an artificial turf field will contribute to a better facility than natural grass would.

The city currently has only one artificial turf field, located at one of its high schools.
