Rittenhouse to offer Stens aftermarket parts

February 17, 2011  By  Mike Jiggens

Rittenhouse has announced it will offer many aftermarket lawnmower and outdoor power equipment replacement parts from Stens. Rittenhouse, based in St. Catharines, Ont., began in 1914 as a manufacturer of spraying equipment for the agricultural industry in the Niagara region of southern Ontario. Stens, an Ariens company, is headquartered in Jasper, Ind., and has been producing a parts catalogue since 1970. Stens supplies aftermarket parts to the green industry, outdoor power equipment and golf markets worldwide.

By including aftermarket lawnmower and handheld power equipment replacement parts, Rittenhouse will become a one-stop-shop for landscapers and other green industry professionals.

“Adding Stens products is a natural progression in serving our customer base,” said Aaron Rittenhouse, the company’s marketing and business development manager. “Stens is a great fit for Rittenhouse as both companies share similar values.”

Initially, Rittenhouse will offer 1,000 Stens SKUs to its sprawling ecommerce website.  Over time, said Rittenhouse, that number will increase. “One thousand SKUs is a good starting point; going forward we are looking forward to increasing that offering”.

All of the parts Rittenhouse is carrying will be compatible with the biggest brands in the commercial lawnmower and outdoor power equipment industry.  The main focus, for the moment, will be on consumables such as lawnmower blades and belts, air and oil filters, and replacement engine parts.  There will also be more complex parts such as hydro gears and clutches available. Rittenhouse can be visited at http://www.rittenhouse.ca.
