Ontario village’s ball diamond to undergo drainage improvements from provincial grant

Ontario Trillium Capital grant will also provide new protective fencing

November 9, 2023  By Turf & Rec

An Ontario Trillium Capital funding grant is allowing the Village of Lanark to proceed with two rehabilitation projects at the Clyde Memorial Baseball Diamond.

The $150,000 grant will be put toward infield drainage improvements and fence replacement.

The diamond’s infield has poorly drained for several years which has resulted in flooded conditions following rain events and the subsequent cancellation of games.

Fencing at the diamond will be replaced and expanded to offer better protection for players and spectators.

The community’s goal is to complete both projects by May’s start of the new baseball season.
