Nineteen per cent of Edmonton park’s trees slated for removal to accommodate upgrades

Word comes as news to some park users

The City of Edmonton plans to removed 220 mature trees from Hawrelak Park to accommodate upgrades and additions to the centrally located green space. The cutting represents about 19 per cent of the park’s trees. Word of the city’s tree-cutting plan comes as news to many frequent users of the park.
