Completely refurbished baseball diamond ready to open with new artificial surface

A decades-old baseball field in Dominion, N.S. is almost ready to unveil its new look.

The Hawks Dream Field project features artificial turf, lighting and shaded seating for spectators. Above all, it is also fully accessible.

More than $3.5 million has been spent over the past four years to refurbish the aging field. Funding has come from government investment, fundraising initiatives and donations.

The field, which overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, will officially open on July 2.
