Baseball field in Dorchester becomes Ontario’s second premier facility with an entirely artificial surface
It joins Toronto's Rogers Centre
October 12, 2022 By Turf & Rec

A Dorchester, Ont. baseball field has joined Toronto’s Rogers Centre – home of the Toronto Blue Jays – as Ontario’s only two premier baseball facilities to feature entirely artificial turf playing surfaces. Royal Field is located at the “Field of Dreams” site at Thames Centre and is the crown jewel in terms of its facilities, says former Major League Baseball catcher Chris Robinson, who is a Dorchester native and co-owner of the Great Lake Canadians. The Canadians will christen the field on Friday during a game with a visiting Quebec team.
