Burlington residents urged to keep off the grass following park’s sod installation

Burlington, Ont. residents are being told to keep off the grass.

Halton Region recently installed new sod along Beachway Park in the city, completing rehabilitation of the park’s dunes. The municipality has made it clear that the sod will grow better without foot traffic.

A statement from the region noted the grass needs to root to ensure it grows.

The sod work is part of a waterfront project aimed to keep the beach environmentally healthy. Habitat restoration and additional boardwalks are yet to be completed.
