Wet spring weather taking its toll on golf courses in Ontario’s Rainy River District
Crews unable to mow under wet conditions
June 2, 2022 By Turf & Rec
Ontario’s Rainy River District has been living up to its name this season with local golf courses paying the price. A wet spring has caused some courses in the area to miss their planned opening dates while another has experienced more days closed than open since starting the season. Maintenance crews have been unable to mow because of wet conditions. Ground that has been slow to thaw has also produced the right conditions for standing water which is taking its time to disappear.
