Superintendent gives nod to long-serving member at club’s 100th anniversary celebration

Portage la Prairie’s Portage Golf Club is celebrating its centennial anniversary this year. Course superintendent Farroll Asham had the honour of presenting an honourary lifetime membership to a 60-year member who was instrumental in helping the club expand to 18 holes in the 1990s. During the presentation, Asham recalled one day as a teenager he was sent home for showing up to play the course dressed in a muscle shirt.
