Storied Lookout Point Country Club in Fonthill, Ont. marks its 100th anniversary this year
Course known for its challenge to read greens
April 13, 2022 By Turf & Rec

The private Lookout Point Golf Club in Fonthill, Ont. is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.
The golf course gets its name from the hillside view it offers of Lake Ontario and the Niagara Falls skyline. What sets it apart from other golf courses in the area is the skill it requires to properly read the greens. Those who play the course for the first time can easily confuse a downhill putt with an uphill putt and vice versa on some greens.
A commemorative book chronicling Lookout Point’s history is expected to be published by June.
Aldo Bortolon is the longtime superintendent at Lookout Point.
More information about the golf course’s centennial year can be found here.
