Vandals tear up pair of Cape Breton soccer fields, rendering them unplayable for weeks
Landscapers provide free repair work
July 6, 2022 By Turf & Rec

Joyriders have damaged two soccer fields in Cape Breton, leaving them unplayable for at least two weeks. Deep ruts have since been filled in and hydroseeded by local landscaping companies that provided the repair work free of charge. More than 200 young soccer players have been inconvenienced by the vandalism and will play games elsewhere while the damaged fields heal. The local soccer club deemed the fields too dangerous to play following the damage.
