November 17, 2023 By Turf & Rec

Cleanup of Muskoka Bay Park in Gravenhurst, Ont. has begun following the explosion of a food truck explosion at the site on Oct. 1.
The cleanup strategy calls for the removal of grass and soil and other processes, including the removal of playground sand and parking lot aggregate removal.
The municipality has targeted Nov. 27 – weather depending – to install new topsoil and sand as well as parking lot aggregates. New sod will be laid in the spring in time for the park’s reopening.
The explosion left an extensive amount of debris at the park.
The insurance company of the truck’s operator will be paying for the cleanup. The site’s rehabilitation is being co-ordinated by Winmar, a property restoration company.
