Residents unhappy with planned tree removal to construct new ‘eco-park’

Trees need to go so that concrete creek lining can be removed

New landscaping and construction at Brampton, Ont.’s Jefferson Park will involve the removal of a number of mature weeping willow trees – a plan that is angering neighbouring residents. The plan is to create a new “eco-park” through a restoration project, but it means the removal of the trees in order to rid the area of the concrete lining of a creek that cuts through the middle of the green space.
