Okanagan-area golf courses open early amid milder-than-usual spring weather

British Columbia’s North Okanagan region if off to an early start to its golf season.

Spallumcheen Golf and Country Club opened for play Wednesday while the Vernon Golf and Country Club was ready for its season opening the following day. The latter course’s opening was about 10 days earlier than most years.

Only 17 holes will be available for play at Vernon on Monday through Saturday as it undergoes an irrigation system replacement.

Upcoming openings for other area courses are set for early April, including Hillview Golf Course and Predator Ridge.
