
Dec. 10, 2018 – Nanaimo’s urban forestry coordinator wants to see local bylaws changed to afford better protection to the city’s tree canopy. Bylaws were implemented and amended in 1993 and 2013, but the city needs to increase its capacity “to be able to oversee replanting, plant more trees, care for those trees, monitor development and set aside good guidelines for tree retention.”
