Sports Turf Canada will stage its third biennial Atlantic Canada Sports Turf Field Day on Thursday, Aug. 27.
Featured speakers include Brad Park of Rutgers University, Josh Marden of Profile Products and Dave Mellor, head groundskeeper for the Boston Red Sox.
Sessions will address management of water for playability, methods to limit the impact of traffic on the sports field, infield management and maintenance, and day-to-day and game-day field preparation for baseball and non-baseball events.
The field day events will take place in Moncton, N.B., considered to be the geographic centre of the Maritimes. Educational sessions will be held at the Moncton Coliseum followed by practical on-field training and a tailgate tradeshow at the nearby CN Sportplexe.
