Information campaign initiated to draw awareness of road salt’s impact on water
Salt can get into groundwater

Conservation Ontario and other agencies want the province to salt responsibly this winter. A 15-week public information campaign has begun to bring awareness of the impact road salt has on drinking water. Melted snow infiltrates into the soil, reaching groundwater and impacting drinking water sources.
