Weather permitting, the long-awaited new artificial turf field and surrounding track at Sarnia, Ont.’s Great Lakes Secondary School might be ready this spring. Work began on the $5.4-million project about a year ago, with the expectation the facility would open last fall, but obstacles were encountered due to poor weather and delays in shipping. It is the local school board’s first artificial turf sports field.
