Grande Prairie association wants some baseball diamonds converted for fastball play
Fastball registrations have tripled since 2019
April 1, 2022 By Turf & Rec

The local fastball organization in Grande Prairie, Alta. wants the city to convert some of its existing baseball diamonds into fastball diamonds as registrations for the sport have tripled over the past three years. Conversion of the diamonds requires pitching mounds to be lowered so that they’re level with the rest of the field and for fencing to be erected. The organization suggests making some baseball diamonds fastball-specific would encourage major events such as Western Canadian and national championships.
