Developer wants to build golf course on land containing Confederation Bridge building debris

Links-style course proposed for P.E.I. property vacant the past 25 years

A Prince Edward Island developer wishes to build a new golf course in the province on fabrication yard property in Borden-Carleton.

The proposed 45-hectare site is littered with slabs of concrete from the 1990s construction of the Confederation Bridge and has been the target of cleanup calls.

Developer Kris Taylor wants to build a links-style golf course at the site. A public meeting is scheduled this week to garner public input for the golf course proposal. The land is currently owned by the province and has been vacant for about 25 years.

The executive director of Golf P.E.I. says a new golf course in Borden-Carleton would be a boost for the province’s golf industry and offer golfers a tremendous view of the Confederation Bridge.
