City to take over maintenance of Salmon Arm, B.C. baseball fields at Elk’s Park

January 12, 2024  By Turf & Rec

Maintenance of Elk’s Park baseball diamonds in Salmon Arm, B.C. is to be taken over by the city which has entered into a five-year agreement. The Elks board had previously looked after the fields, but is aging and needs a caretaker for operations.

Council has made provisions in its 2024 budget to upgrade bathrooms at the facility and enhance field maintenance.

The primary user group for the fields is the Salmon Arm Minor Baseball Association. The Shuswap Recreation Society wil look after field bookings.

The city’s plan is to bring the diamonds back to standard over time.
